Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the FLAGDROP app for mobile devices, created by Velocity Apps as a free service. This service is intended for use “AS IS”.
What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
FLAGDROP does not require registration or an account, and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or contact details.
The Application fetches publicly available motorsports race schedule data (race names, session times, circuits, broadcasters) from a backend service operated by the Service Provider. This backend stores public racing schedule information and, if you enable notifications, a push notification token for your device. It does not store your name, an account, or which series or sessions you follow.
What information is stored on your device?
The Application stores the following information locally on your device only:
- Series preferences: which racing series you have chosen to follow (e.g., Formula 1, NASCAR, ARCA Menards).
- Notification preferences: your chosen notification lead time (e.g., 15 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day before a session).
- Per-session bell toggles: which individual race sessions you have enabled push notifications for.
- Local timezone: used to display race times in your local time.
If you enable notifications, the preferences needed to deliver them are also synced to the Service Provider’s backend together with your push notification token. You can clear locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the Application or by using the “Clear all reminders” option within the Application’s Settings screen.
Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, the Application registers a push notification token for your device and sends it to the Service Provider’s backend. This token is a unique identifier issued by your device’s operating system and the Expo push service, and it allows the Service Provider to deliver notifications to your device. The Service Provider stores this token together with your device platform (iOS or Android), the version of the Application you are running, your notification preferences, your device’s timezone, and whether a FlagDrop home or lock screen widget is installed.
This token does not identify you personally and is not linked to your name or an account. The synced preferences are used solely to deliver the notifications you asked for, and the widget indicator solely to understand how the widget feature is used. You can disable notifications at any time in the Application’s Settings screen or your device’s system settings, and tokens that are no longer valid are removed periodically.
What about the backend?
When the Application fetches race schedule data, the Service Provider’s backend infrastructure may log standard connection metadata, such as your device’s IP address and the timestamp of the request. This metadata is used only to operate the service reliably, prevent abuse, and is not linked to you personally. This metadata is not shared with third parties for marketing, advertising, or analytics purposes.
Does the Application collect precise real-time location information?
No. The Application does not request or collect location information of any kind.
Do third parties see and/or have access to your information?
The Service Provider does not sell your information or share it with third parties for marketing, advertising, or analytics purposes.
To deliver notifications, your device’s push token is processed by standard push delivery services: the Expo push service and your platform provider’s push service. These services operate according to the privacy policies of their respective providers. Apart from this delivery path, the push token is stored only on the Service Provider’s backend and is not shared.
What are my opt-out rights?
You can stop all data processing by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes available through your mobile device or application marketplace.
You can also disable notifications at any time in your device’s system settings or within the Application’s Settings screen.
Children
The Application is not directed at children under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
If you believe a child has provided personally identifiable information to the Service Provider through the Application, please contact the Service Provider at feedback.flagdrop@gmail.com so that appropriate action can be taken.
Security
The Application does not collect personal identity information such as your name or email address. The push notification tokens and connection metadata handled by the Service Provider’s backend infrastructure are stored according to industry-standard security practices.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify users of changes by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy and a new effective date. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Continued use of the Application after changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
Your Consent
By using the Application, you consent to the processing of information as set forth in this Privacy Policy, now and as amended by the Service Provider.
